SEO and local SEO for small businesses
Every site we build is set up to be found on Google from launch. Then we track how it does and improve it every month. Nobody can promise a ranking, but we make sure nothing technical holds you back.
- SEO set up from launch
- Tracked and improved every month
- Local SEO and your Google Business Profile
- No ranking promises
What we set up at launch
- A clear structure, so search engines and visitors can tell what each page is about
- Proper page titles and descriptions, written for each page
- Fast load times on phones and computers
- Visitor stats, so you can see what is working
Want to see where your current site stands? Our free SEO check checks a page against what Google and Bing say matters, and links every finding to their own documentation.
Local SEO and your Google Business Profile
For a local business, the map results can matter as much as the website. Google says it ranks local results mainly on relevance, distance and popularity: how well a business matches the search, how far it is from the person searching, and how well known it is, judged partly from the websites that link to it and its reviews.
Your Google Business Profile is the listing that shows on Google Maps. Google only lists businesses that meet their customers in person, at a place customers visit or by travelling to them, so we check that first. Then we can set up and manage your profile in your name, so your details match everywhere. Distance is the one thing no website can change.
Every month
- We track how your site does in Google and improve it
- Visitor stats you can actually read
- Updates to your pages for launches and offers
How long does SEO take?
Longer than most people hope. Google says some changes show within a few hours and others take several months, so we judge each change over weeks, not days.
What we will not do
- Promise you a ranking. Search engines make their own decisions, so nobody honest can.
- Buy links to your site. Google’s spam policies treat links bought to raise a ranking as link spam.
- Fill your site with near-identical pages for every town nearby. Google calls those doorway pages.
- Stuff keywords into your pages. It reads badly, and Google treats it as spam.
What does it cost?
Setting your site up for Google is part of the build. Tracking and improving it afterwards is part of the fixed monthly fee.
